Author: For school obviously. I’m just trying to think of some major events/things that allowed for the rebellion to be so successful against such a power as Britain.
It did take seven years of hard fighting for the American rebellion to succeed against Britain.
The British needed a political solution to back up any military successes, and the actions needed to ensure the military successes would have alienated the loyalists in the 13 Colonies.

If the war in America had lost the support of the Tories, then it hardly started with much from the Whig’s in the first place.
I am wondering what the main reasons are that the spartans were so successful on a military level. Any society based examples would help too, but any factor would be appreciated.
Unlike the other city states, Sparta’s was a pure military state, each man trained from the age of 7yrs to become a professional killer. Sparta’s success lay in this extensive training, in particular in the formation of the phalanx, as each man’s shield protected the left hand side of his neighbor. As this formation contained men who had spent their lives training, messing, sleeping and being educated together this established a very tight bond, not often broken. Also the state promoted mentoring, each boy during training and education was sponsored by an elder who guided him, ( in sex as well). Thus the phalanx consisted of a body of men who not only knew the person to his left but everyone forming it and trusted that no man would let his brother down.
If not, have you known any high school valedictorians who ended up living a crappy life?
i don’t think it does. i’m not a high school valedictorian (although i was in middle school. lol) but i still don’t think it does.
to go ANYWHERE in life you have to be streetsmart, it helps if you’re booksmart as well but you just about have to be streetsmart. being valedictorian doesn’t determine how smart you are…maybe how booksmart you are, but not how smart you are. there’s a difference between being successful in school, and being successful in life. but i’d be surprised if a valedictorian ended up being a nobody, but logic doesn’t guarantee valedictorians a successful life.
