Do you mind sharing some Success Strategies here?

Gosh, there are so many scenarios…but for general survival:

1) Decide on a rendezvous points ahead of time if family is separated. That means everyone must know the surrounding area. And how to communicate when phones are down.

2) Educate yourself on basic survival techniques for your area. You’ve got to know the basics of making a shelter, fire, water procurement/filtration, food procurement/preparation, communication, and first aid. Carry a personal survival kit EVERYWHERE you go.

3) Modularize your kits from basic to home base kits. For example, have a personal survival pocket kit, a car sized kit for up to 4 people based on season/area, and a family kit based on season/area. These things need to include your basic survival, then progress to comfort items and clothing. Preposition supplies at your rendezvous points if possible. Otherwise, keep supplies mobile and easily carried. I love rubbermaid tubs :)

4) Manage supplies that can sustain each person in your household for at least a year. That means food inventory/preparation/storage; water filtration/storage off grid; heating/cooling off grid and fuel to go with it; sanitation; and basic tools and supplies for protecting and fixing things around the house and for your vehicles.

5) Maintain physical and emotional well being. Do what is necessary to stay healthy. Toughen your feet and wear proper footwear!

Having knowledge is the greatest resource. Learning and doing it–gardening, canning, education in survival and first aid, weapons proficiency, knowing what supplies your family needs vs what is nice to have.

Folks, you can’t eat and drink bullets. And if you think you’re going to take from someone else what you should have put away for yourself, I’ll be part of the posse to blow your a$$ away. You can’t eat roadkill when TSHTF because there won’t be any cars rolling or antibiotics/dewormers to kill the crap you put in your bodies.

while measuring a persons success.. do we count his acheivements or the path he has choosen? ofcourse i’m not talking abt the tooo insane ppl..

Many tyrants have been successful…

But the ones who are remembered with fondness are the ones who did good.

Like lets say someone graduates high school with a HIGH SAT score and a 4.0 GPA, also this person has been accepted into the top colleges,

do you think that the person will be successful in life and will make a lot of money?

Not at all. I have seen Valedictorians go down the path and crumple, I have seen many just leave college because they were burned out by the time they left high school or they were too cocky when they got to college.

Now could it set you off on the right foot?

Of course, it can get into a good college. Then again if you do poorly in that college, then you will be working a 9 to 5 job not making that much.

In my opinion, college success determines success in life. I graduated high school with a 3.0 GPA, I slacked off and even when I tried I just didn’t get it. I got into an average university somehow and then I did great there, I attained my masters from MIT. Now I make about 120k per year. The guy who graduated valdedictorian from my school is unemployed right now and I even housed him. He is a good friend of mines, I admire him but now I am making more than him.

Some people just flourish late in their educational careers but as they say, better late than never.

I wish someone knew. But no one does.
We all have our on view on what is really a successful love.
But to me a successful love is being with someone that you feel COMPLETELY comfortable with, that you trust fully, and that you can tell everything too. You just feel it in your heart.

We have standard to measure almost everything around us. We measure diamonds by carats, distance by miles, etc.. But we don’t have a standard to measure life itself.
Please let me know in a few words what you think the standard should be to measure your life.
Thanks.

Each person establishes their own individual standard. If they don’t, they’ve already failed.

Mine? I’m a success to the degree that I’ve contributed positively to the life of my nieces, my dogs, and my friends. When I breath my last breath, those are the only things I’ll be thinking about.

Yes, there are other, secondary factors. However, they do not have the importance that these three do.

Can you please describe for me as best you can the Path To Success, in terms of the process and mentality. What does the entrepreneurial path way look like to you?

The entrepeneurial path is a risky but fulfilling one. You should have a combination of passion and business know-how. That’s why they say that entrepreneurs are not left-brained, nor right-brained, but they use both left and right brains. They use both logic and creativity, both reason and intution. Logic and reason allows them to analyze market trends, do sales forecasts, read financial statements. Creativity and intuition allows them to continually innovate and respond to the changing tastes and preferences of the consumers. These skills are needed in running your own business.

A website is just like any other advertising medium. It wouldn’t hurt to check out some of your competitors websites to see what their layout is like. You may not need one, but it’s inexpensive to build and host a website, compared to other types of advertising. Are you looking to build a website for a pastry shop? an online consumer shop for pastry/baking supplies? Do you plan to sell pastries online?

You could check out PastryNet which an online community for pastry professionals.
http://www.pastrynet.com/

There’s also the Association of Pastry Chefs
http://www.associationofpastrychefs.org/

You could also look at any website designed for the hospitality industry in general.

This Is an argumentative topic. How far do you agree that good education is the only Path To Success?

No. There are other ways as well although good education is a very major benefit.

Do not forget to include, intelligence, hard work, luck. and contacts.

Do you believe and or know that an ivy or other top-tier college/university produces more successful AND happier people than a college than a slightly lesser of a counterpart? Is it fair to say that the college you go to contributes to your overall enjoyment of life due to the career choices/life directions it takes you? I am questioning as to whether the stress, success, and attributes of top-tier graduates are good or bad. Examples would likely help. Thanks!

I would say that if you have a top tier education, that a place is more likely to hire you, yes. I have a very successful uncle who got a degree in music at Yale, and he now makes a lot of money orchestrating movies.
