Vanguard Career Center currently has an enrollment of nearly 600 high school juniors and seniors. Students in a two year program can choose to attend Vanguard in one of two ways:

1) Attend Vanguard all day for academic and career training

2) Attend half days at Vanguard for career training and the second half of the day at their member school for academic classes.

In either situation, Vanguard students participate in after-school athletics or club-related activities at their member school.

· 96.9% of students who completed one
of our programs became employed in their
field of study, pursued higher education in that field, or were employed or pursuing education in a related field.

of our career paths.

· 97% of our students received their high school diploma while completing one of our career paths.

· 97% is the attendance rate for Vanguard-Sentinel students.

· 100% of Vanguard-Sentinel students have the opportunity to participate in career technical organizations, leading to regional, state and national competitions which help build leadership skills.

Pre-apprenticeship Opportunities

Gain on-the-job experience, while attending school, with the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW), Toledo Electrical Contractors ociation (TECA), Toledo Sheet Metal Workers, Toledo Ironworkers and their respective Joint Apprenticeship Training Councils.

School-to-Work Advanced Placement

Second year students attend school and refine their skills by being placed in the work setting.

Career Passport

Students who complete one of our programs receive a professional-looking Career Passport with information
about their accomplishments and an introductory letter from our Superintendent.

In-School Programs

Nearly 2,200 students receive Vanguard-Sentinel training in their home school through one of our 30+ on-site programs.
