You know there’s been a few years since I decided to create a YouTube video. It’s been a few years – about five to be exact.
I wanted to expand on why I decided to come back, and why you should consider doing the same – if you’re on the fence.
So it was in 2017 that I decided to start a YouTube channel, and my blog – Life Success Factors.
I remember vividly having a ton of motivation, and grand plans for what I’d want the blog to be.
At that time in my life, I was really getting into personal development, investing and building an online business.
To a large extent – these aspirations are still very much alive now in December 2025, as they were back then.
Turning a new leaf
So then when December rolled around I said to myself – “it’s time I started getting back into blogging and producing videos on personal development and finance.
That’s when I decided to create this video – see below:
We all need motivation sometimes – for me this comes from taking action.
If you’ve been following me, then you would have heard me speak about the B.P.A.R principle.
It stands for:
- B – Belief
- P – Potential
- A – Action
- R – Results
What this principle is getting at is that sometimes in order to get results, we first need to believe we can achieve something, before taking action.
While action is great, we need a bit of a ‘kick start’ and that start comes from first having belief that we can do something – especially if we’ve never attempted it before.

YouTube is a time capsule
Something that I’ve been thinking about lately is the concept of documenting my life. One of the advantages of starting a YouTube channel is that not only does it become a creative outlet, but it allows you to document your journey and becomes some what of a time capsule of the way you used to think and speak at a specific moment in time.
I’ve found this particularly fascinating as I watch old videos of myself, and reminisce on the way I used to think, my aspirations and my dreams.

Why I stepped away
I needed the time to myself to focus on my why. In the last few years, I’ve been focusing on my why – as Simon Sinek speaks about in his book “Start With Why”.

One of the reasons why I think I struggled showing up for this blog and my YouTube channel is that I was wandering aimlessly – I knew I wanted to contribute somehow, but I didn’t have a clear purpose.
And don’t get me wrong, I think in many ways I had convinced myself that I was focusing on YouTube for all the right reasons – but I think the most important reason was missing – how was it benefitting my life, and how did it fit into my overall life’s purpose.
Key takeaway
I spent yesterday down at Safety Beach with a close friend and it allowed me to take the time and space to reflect on 2025, and the years that have passed since my last video, and it brought me a renewed sense of optimism for the future.
In 2026, I want to show up and be more authentic. I will not have my own limiting beliefs stop me from achieving my true potential, and I will rise to the challenges that will inevitably come my way.

I’ll take this opportunity to encourage you to also step up – take on that new project or challenge and find ways to consistently put yourself in growth situations.
As they say, if you’re not growing or moving forward then you’re stagnating and dying.
And we are all about making the most out of life.
With that said, I hope you got some value out of todays’ blog post and video.
Let me know what you think in the comments below, and until next time
Peace
Craig
