Why I regret not doing this one thing with my blog

why I regret not doing this one thing with my blog

So I write this in late July 2025, a few years after I wrote my last blog. It’s been a long time coming. One of my regrets is that I didn’t continue with blogging here on Life Success Factors. This is something that I was really passionate about from 2018 to 2021, and then I sorta just lost interest.

Christmas Day this year was a revelation

I even made a YouTube video about getting back into blogging and YouTube on Christmas Day this year (2025).

I think the main reason is that I just got busy with work, but I realised that I was just focusing on someone else’s dream, and not my own. I vividly remember having the energy and motivation (and having the excitement) to come home from work and record another video for the YouTube channel, or to write a blog post.

When I stopped blogging

It seems that since 2021, this motivation has waned. I think I wanted to focus more on work, but it was like I was drifting further and further away from my dreams, and my goals. But this isn’t to complain, I willingly engaged in furthering my career.

But the more I think about the ‘old way of doing things’, the more I realised that we now live in a digital economy, where a lot of commerce is moving online.

This move means that it’s never been easier to scale your own business, or connect with other creators across the globe. I think what I suffered from in a big way over the last couple of years was a sense that my world was closing in.

Losing that spark

I was working with the same people day in and day out, and not having that ‘big picture’ thinking that catapulted me to start this blog in the first place.

But anyway, the past is the past and I have learned a lot over the last couple of years – I’m truly grateful for that and I can’t live in regret.

The path forward

So, where to now? Well, it’s time to get back into the saddle – so to speak. My commitment now is to continue to blog, to write here. I will practice my craft. Actually, now that I think about it, the thing that has moved me forward in my 9-5 career, is my ability to write with clarity, purpose and impact.

I wrote about getting back into YouTube in this blog post.

I think this might actually be the thing that I translate now into the online sphere. To move this blog, my business forward – how can I help you communicate more effectively, with purpose, and with impact?

Leave a comment down below if you’d like to learn more. Is there something that you regret over the last few years? What are you doing to turn regret into action?

I will continue to post here and share my thoughts with this community. I want to share my ideas, my views. I know I’ve got something unique to share with the world. Now is the time to make that happen. To come out of my little bubble where my leverage is limited!

Ciao, and remember friends – life is what you make of it!

Peace
